Volunteer Opportunities

ACTS OF COMPASSION HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THE LIVES OF FAMILIES

We have volunteer opportunities for people with various gifts, skills, and time availability. Please click on the links below to find a volunteer opportunity that meets your needs.

You can also view our current volunteer needs on our Volunteer Match site.

What's it like to volunteer with Family Promise? Ask 4-year-old, Eliza, and she'll tell you.

“My staff and I had a discussion about how much we like working with you, your staff, and your guests. All of us agreed that we have never heard anything negative about the organization. You are the most functional shelter program we have had the pleasure to work with exhibiting a smooth delivery of services, moving families into permanent housing, and collaborating with local organizations to make sustainable housing happen.”

Board Membership

We have opportunities for people to serve on our Board.  Our Board can consist of up to 18 individuals.  These individuals are voted onto the Board after a preliminary period of service on at least one committee.

Day Center

Day Center volunteers help with answering the phone, taking messages, and assisting the families as needed. Volunteers are a presence at the Day Center. If interested, volunteers can also help with mailings and other administrative tasks.

Committees

We have several committees that need the expertise of our community members. Our committees are Board Development, Executive, Finance, Fund Development, Human Resources, Properties, Public Relations/Marketing, and Network Relations.

why do you volunteer?

"I will continue to be involved because I believe it is a valuable program that helps families to move from homelessness to home by working with them on important life skills and relationship skills."

~Kathy, volunteer since 2010
